POINTS RACE #14 - LAST POINTS RACE OF 2019
LINK TO SATURDAY 09/07/19 RESULTS

SUNDAY SEPTEMBER 8, 2019
BCRW/SUMMIT POINTS RACE #14
TOM THORP TRANSPORTS SUPER PRO: Dennis Lithgow made it a double up winning weekend, just barely getting past Cory Beatty in the final round. Both drivers left with nearly identical lights. Cory was out with a .0065 and Dennis had a .0068. At the top end, it was Cory running under by a tiny -.0106. 4.8794 against his 4.89 dial. Dennis finished over his 4.72 dial with a 4.733. That finish likely looked real close to both drivers, looks like Cory got there first by about .003.
TOM THORP TRANSPORTS SUPER PRO - TRACK CHAMPION: Bern Beatty claimed the Super Pro track Championship in a run off with Jon Chamberlain. Bern and Jon had both gone out tied with the same number of total points, so they agreed to a run off. The win went to Bern, with a .021 light and a 4.833 over her 4.82 dial. Jon killed it on the tree with a .0095 but took a hair too much stripe and broke out, running only .0003 (that's Three Ten-Thousanths of a second) under his 5.62 dial. That critter in the cage - that is Shelby the grasshopper, the weekend good luck charm. Apparently, it worked pretty well!
13 SINS RACECRAFT PRO FOOTBRAKE: Sambo Tyra in his Screamin' Yellow Nova clinched the Footbrake Track Championship with a great run today, winning every round - except one. Sambo got handed a total smack-down from JJ Gossett in the final round. JJ was .001 on the tree and finished two over at 6.10 to her 6.08 dial. Sambo was a bit late with a .067 reaction time and also finished two over at 5.76 to his 5.74 dial.
MAX'S AUTOMOTIVE JR DRAGSTER: THANKS to Renegade Billet for upped the winners share this weekend to $450! Will Scherr (Will is in the Footbrake picture above) took the win in Jrs, getting the better end of a big double breakout final. Shane McKinney broke out more and ended up as our runner up. Not a bad finish for a guy that made his first visit to Big Country Raceway, and it was his first time to park in a winners circle too! From the numbers, apparently neither driver considered lifting at all. Will had a .078 reaction time and drove past his 7.90 dial in to a 7.844. Shane had a little bit slower .086 light and also drove it out the back end, finishing at 8.19 under an 8.27 dial. Congratulations to both drivers, and remember that there is a brake in those cars.
MAX'S KAWSAKI MOTORCYCLE: Track Motorcycle Champion Don Hrometz finished up his year with a double up by taking the win again on Sunday. Shawn Ellison had to settle for a double up runner up finish, letting Don get past him twice on the same weekend. Don's win came all on the tree, with Don hitting a .083 reaction time and Shawn...well, he was late. Don ran it down the track and lifted to a 6.02 over a 5.96 dial. Shawn was only one off at 6.14 over a 6.13 dial, but that light of his just did him wrong.
