RACE RESULTS FOR 2017 5th ANNUAL THANKSGIVING THROWDOWN
SPONSORED BY SDPC RACESHOP AND BIG COUNTRY RACE WAY
FRIDAY NOVEMBER 24 2017
TOM THORP TRANSPORTS SUPER PRO (BOX): Alan Bracey took the win in Super Pro with a dead on 6.084 to get past Johnny "Bracket Racer" Ezell in the final. Alan was .028 on the tree against Ezell's better .021. Ezell finished 4.923 over his 4.91 dial. That sounds like more than it is, but figures out to a Margin of Victory being only .0016
LONGMIRE PLUMBING NOBOX/SPORTSMAN: NoBox final was another close one with Sambo Tyra taking the win over Marcus Cervantes. Sambo was .062 on the leave and finished 5.650 over his 5.64 dial. Marcus ran a great dead on 5.927 but had a later .071 light. Thanks to the difference on the tree, Sambo took the win by only .0067.
MAX'S AUTOMOTIVE JR DRAGSTER: AAron Jordan got the better side of a double breakout final race against Coleton Gossett. Aaron was .0019 under, running 8.1981 against a 8.20 dial with a .064 light. Coleton had a slower .080 light but what did him in was running .0034 under, 9.1866 against a 9.19 dial. Basically, Coleton ran .0015 too fast.
SUPER PRO 32 CAR SHOOTOUT: This one was over at the get-go. Paul Schneider left first on his 5.54 dial, with Tony Farmer waiting about 3/4 of a second later at 4.84. Unfortunately for Tony the trans brake didn't hold and he rolled through the lights before his side of the tree had hardly fired. That was that.
NO BOX 32 CAR SHOOTOUT: Peeps Pennington took a pretty easy lap to the winners circle, staying well ahead of Todd Zampesee and taking the stripe first for the win. Peeps was .016 on the tree and backed out to finishing 6.42 over his 6.39 dial. Peeps could back that far out because Todd was a bit late with a .087 light. Todd ran it all the way anyway and finished 5.60 over a 5.59 dial.

SATURDAY NOVEMBER 25, 2017
TOM THORP TRANSPORTS SUPER PRO (BOX): Johnny Ezell made up for yesterday's runner up finish with a win in Super on Saturday. It was dang close though with runner up Dan Dittmer being right there at the finish. Ezell's light was the difference, his being .011 to Dan's still good .021. Both ran dead on - Ezell 4.732 and Dan 5.796. Johnny wins the round by .0141. PS - For you Ford fans - the Falcon is powered by a Coyote.
LONGMIRE PLUMBING NOBOX/SPORTSMAN: Wes Snodgrass faced off against Scooter Hamlin in the final of No Box. Scooter left first and went -.008 red. And, that's a wrap on that round..
MAX'S AUTOMOTIVE JR DRAGSTER: Austin Green wop-wopped his way-way to the win-win in Jr, getting past Jace Head in the last round. Austin was 8.05 over a 7.96 with a .033 light to win the race. Jace was 7.94 over a 7.90 but left late with a .131 reaction time. That slow light was the direct cause for all the wopping going on in the other lane.
