SATURDAY OCTOBER 31 2020 4th FRIGHTFUL SPOOKTACULAR DAY 1 - NHRA .TV CHALLENGE
TOM THORP TRANSPORTS SUPER PRO - NHRA .TV CHALLENGE:Double Breakout was the scary word for the Super Pro final. Cory Beatty took the win by going just .0062 under his 4.86 dial in. Maxey Chittum's ride got way happy and finished 5.38, a full 2 under his 5.40 dial. Cory takes home the Super Pro NHRA .TV Challenge Wally.
13 SINS RACECRAFT PRO FOOTBRAKE: Benny Gossett got the win in Footbrake right on the starting line when Elrey Cantu went -.033 red. That would be all there was to say, except for the killer finish line numbers vs the dial ins. Benny ran 5.681 on a 5.68 and Elrey went 6.268 on a 6.26. That could have been a heck of a close final, if hadn't been for that dang red light.. Benny was presented with the NHRA .TV Challenge Wally for Footbrake.
MAX'S AUTOMOTIVE JR DRAGSTER:Bode Bennett scored the win in Jrs, just barely getting around Mallorie Stevens on the last pass. Bode drove to an 8.19 over and 8.14 dial with a .028 light. Mallorie was right there on the tree with a .027 and finished her run at 9.03 over an 8.98 dial. Those numbers are all way off the dials, but after all the adding and subtracting, it turns out Bode only took the stripe by .0072. Very close finish. Fun Fact - Mallorie won this same race at the 3rd Spooktacular in 2019.
BIG COUNTRY STREET ELIMINATOR: John Michael Stevens (pictured with the blue truck in the Jr. Runner Up photo) got the win in Street when Robbie Bowermaster went just a little bit red on the start. Little as in -.0051. Very little. Just a tiny bit. OK, we'll stop now.
BIG COUNTRY JR STREET ELIMINATOR:Maddi Gossett (pictured up with the Gossett clan in Footbrake) claimed another win in Jr Street, thanks to Gracen Whitman's -.0072 red light.
